Running With Joy

Today I ran for 40 minutes on the treadmill.  I had my new Newtons on and Injini toe socks.  I LOVED everything about my run.  I loved Izzie talking to me.  I loved the feel of my new shoes.  I loved the toe socks.  It was one of those days where it just felt right to run.  Was it new shoes and socks?  Hmmmm....maybe or was it just a super running feeling after not running yesterday?  I honestly can't tell you what it was, but I smiled the entire time.
This is a funky week because it is vacation week here.  I might not get outside to do much running, but I am going to keep up my numbers.  I have a half marathon in 6 weeks, then one two weeks later.  I am still weighing my fall marathon options, but will hopefully have a clearer picture after this week.  I had told my self NO marathon's this year, but I obviously have the bug.  The idea of not doing one has me feeling a little blah....
Did anyone see the new runningskirts line today?  I might order the blue pixels....

Losing It

After the Chicago Marathon I swore I would not run another marathon.  I hurt my hip, it was hot....just not a great day.  Well....I am thinking that it is like having a baby and I have forgotten the pain because I am now looking at fall marathons.  I have two in mind.  I just printed a training plan and counted back on my calendar.  Yes I have officially LOST it!
Happy Sunday!  Is anyone watching The Oscar's?  We just watched the stars on the Red Carpet and now we are on to the show.

Good Morning Saturday!

I am sitting on my couch in the quiet this morning.  Everyone is still upstairs.  The dog is chewing her bone and I am on the computer.  It is so peaceful.  The sun is coming out, but the winds are supposed to be up to 60 mph today.  Great!  I am sure that our power will go out.
The kids are on school vacation this week.  I have to say I am so excited.  No lunches to pack.  No arguing for everyone to get in the car.  No car pool arrangements.  I do have to work on Monday and Tuesday, but that will be okay.  I don't want us to get sick of each other to soon.
I ran the Half at the Hamptons last weekend with 6 of my running besties.  We all finished in different times, but as per usual everyone met for hugs and congratulations at the end.  I finished in 1:55 which I am not complaining about.  I wore my Saucony Triumphs and ended up with two huge blisters.  They were sliding all over the place.  I have found that this shoe is wider than I am used too and in working that sometimes I tend to size it down a half a size on customers.  In the end I decided that it is probably okay for neighborhood runs, but I won't be wearing them in any more races.
The beauty of this race is that I went in with no expectations.  Whatever happened happened.  I ended up have a pretty speedy race, finishing 5 minutes under my goal time.  My next half is April 7 in Newmarket, NH.  This race is the Great Bay Half Marathon.  It is known for its hills.  I have been doing some hill work, but I truly have no expectation.  One of my friends PR'd this course last year, my other friend hated it.  We'll see.
Finally, I treated myself to a new pair of Newton Gravity's this week and they are arriving on Monday.  I will be honest I am not loving any of my running shoes right now.  I spent yesterday at the store trying on all of the neutral shoes.  Did not love anything....I am hoping that the Newtons give me a pick up.  Who knows?  I will keep you posted.
Happy Saturday everyone!  Are you running today?  I am working 10-5 and am going to take today off.  Will do a longer run tomorrow.

Heartbreak on the Hill

Valentine's Day is over and I have been blessed with the standard amounts of lollipops, pixie sticks and fun dip all around the house.  I give the kids 24 hours to eat what they want and then I throw it away.  No need for lingering.  Plus, after my visit to Target on Friday I guess it is time to dive into Easter.....seriously, has it even been Mardi Gras yet?
My 5th grader came home yesterday teary eyed.  It seems as though the 5th grade girl he has been admiring has a hefty, outspoken friend (that from my 6th grader), who took the chocolates that were meant for E--and threw them at Ben saying the young girl didn't want them.  I pulled out the Valentine's Day handbook and tried to make him feel better, but honestly I was mad.  Who is this girl?  Why would she take something that was not hers? and why would she throw them at him?  On the ride home there was talk that the friend likes Ben.  (not a good match she is about 6 feet tall to Ben's 4 feet)  Siri wanted to beat her up.  (Please no, we are at Catholic School)  and I am struggling.  Do I let it play out?  Do I contact his teacher?  (friends say yes, my husband says absolutely NOT!)  The crazy Mom in me wants her to get in trouble?  (seriously, it is the 5th grade)  and Ben, Ben told me to please not get involved, which of course I will honor his request.
When did Valentine's Day become so hard?  Maybe I am not remembering 5th grade.  I don't think that I had a secret admirer or got chocolates from a special someone.  I am realizing that they just grow up really fast and maybe I should be Ben's Valentine for a few more years.  The sad face was more than I could bear.

6 Miles for Sherry and Other News

Yesterday I took to my treadmill and ran 6 miles for Sherry Arnold.  I don't have a pic or my bib, but I spent the hour on the mill thinking about Sherry and her family.  I for a minute thought about the losers that hurt her, but that is not what I wanted to waste my time dwelling on.  The entire situation is rotten, but what an amazing group of runners that came together to run for someone.  Pretty amazing.

I have been working 2-3 days a week and even got my first paycheck this week.  I went to Target and got the kids some Valentines treats.  Very exciting to spend my OWN money;)

Finally, I have a half marathon on Sunday.  It is the Half at the Hamptons in Hampton, NH.  We did this race last year and I really love it.  It is a flat, well supported course.  There is about 7 of us going down and it is my friend Gail's birthday so we are going to eat something yummy after.  I can't wait.  I am hoping for a sub 2.  My training has been pretty good and I have been feeling pretty strong.  I did wake up with some hip pain the other day, but for right now I am going to ignore it.

I will leave you with a picture of Valentine's Day prep at our house....Let's just say the amount of glitter in my home could probably cover all of your homes....
                                                         Happy Valentine's Day

11 Random Things About Me

I was tagged by bloggy buddy Michelle to participate in the 11 things about me post.  I think that I am one of the last people to do it, but I will write 11 random things and and answer the questions Michelle posed.

1.  My Dad was in the Navy while we were growing up.  By the time I was in 9th grade we had lived in Lousiana, Mississippi, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, California and Maine.  My Dad retired in Maine.
2.  I was an adolescent heath nurse at Children's Boston before I got married and became a Mom.
3.  I am an obsessive vacuumer.  I could vacuum three times a day and be thrilled.  I do not like dirt in my house.
4.  I love to read and my Kindle was one of my favorite gifts ever.
5.  I am not a great cook.  I can make basic kid friendly meals, but anything fancy and with a lot of steps I am out.  I don't really enjoy it and I hate cleaning up.
6.  I still secretly (not anymore) watch Young and the Restless everyday.  (Please no comments.)
7.  I could eat every vegetable known to man, but do not like fruit.  It is a struggle to get an apple down everyday.

9.  I have a dog and 2 cats.  I do not particularly like cats, but I love mine and I always talk about how smart they are.
10.  I rarely drink alcohol.  One to many fun times in my 20's and early 30's and it turned me off.  Give me a cracker with cheese anyday.
11.  I had my half marathon PR in my first half marathon that I ever ran.  I have not made it back since.

and now Michelle's questions:

  1. Favorite quote or saying (not from a movie)?  "If Mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy."
  2. Favorite movie quote? Every day you wake up and you’re not in the ground, you have to make some decisions.  (from the Help.)
  3. 3 dinner guests -who would they be? (Can be dead or alive)  Clara Barton (because of my nursing background.)  Kara Goucher and Bill Clinton
  4. Favorite indulgence?  a good manicure and pedicure

  11. What's your biggest pet peeve?  Being late or people that are late.

Outside in January

I don't know where you call home or what your winter has been like, but for us in NH we have had ONE, I will say it again ONE, total, official, cold run and it was 8 degrees and windy.  It was that cold that when you get home and get in the shower it is as though someone is shooting a nail gun at you as the shower hits you.  Since then, it has been great.  Honestly, half zips and capri running skirts for me.  It has to be one of the weirdest winters in NH.  Right now I am listening to it pour outside.  It sounds like a June rain storm.
I keep feeling like we are going to get slammed at some point.  I don't know how long this can go on, but it is just weird out.  Don't get me wrong, I am not the biggest fan of snow and missing school etc... but a good 6 inches to go sledding would be nice or how about cold enough that we can take the kids to go ice skating.  Hmmmm....mother nature what is going on?
That being said I have a half marathon on February 17th.  How much do you want to bet that we are going to have a snow storm on that day?
I was tagged by Michelle at Running with Attitude for the 11 things meme.  That will be my homework for tomorrow.  I love reading the randomness of people.  It should be fun.

Just Like That....

I am employed.  The job from Runner's Alley came through and I am starting training tomorrow.  I honestly can not believe it.  I took a chance.  I sent an e-mail to a store that I love and everything has fallen into place.  When I called the owner back after he e-mailed me the other day he said he thought, "we were going to make a great team."  I am excited to begin the learning process.  Shoe fittings, clothes, helping customers.  It is definitely going to take time.  As much as I think that I know, I am realizing that I don't know much.
The kids are being funny.  Siri is worried about who is going to drive her to riding.  Ben is worried about dinner.  (funny for a kid who doesn't eat) Andy is worried about how late he has to stay at after school and Izzie...she doesn't really care.  This part will be hard.  There will be one or two afternoons when they have to come home and wait for Trav for a half of an hour.
Am I worried?  I am not worried, but I am definitely nervous.  I have not held a job since before Siri was born 12 years ago.  I definitely have a few insecurities, but I just am going to go in with a positive attitude and an open mind.
On another note I belted out 10 miles on the treadmill today while watching the NFL network with Ben.  I am a sucker for football and even more of a sucker for my New England Patriots.  Go Pats!

It's the January Crazies

Well I have fallen off of my blog bandwagon.  I could probably write a VERY long blog entry this am, but I don't even have time as I am off to the grocery store before my kiddos get up.  We have had a busy couple of weeks.

  • Lacrosse and basketball have started.  I am already sick of being in my car and trying to figure out how to feed four kids without becoming a short order cook.
  • Ben's basketball team has not won one game yet.  He got in the car the other night and was quick to talk about how bad they are.  I didn't quite know what to say because....he is right they are really bad.  My reply, "Well Ben...you can only go up from here!"
  • I had a job interview at Runner's Alley this week and fingers crossed I think that it went really well.  I would work in the store, run some running groups etc....everything that I want to do back in the work force.  Don't get me wrong I am looking to work, but I am also looking to have fun while I am doing it.
  • My training for Half at the Hamptons is going great.  We are enjoying our runs and totally gearing up.  It helps that the weather in the New Hampshire has been good enough for us to run outside most days.
  • I ran the Cabin Fever 5K on Saturday in Milford, NH.  It was a fun race with a big turnout.  The only bummer was that we had snow/ice on Thursday and Friday and the road it was on was really icy.  I ran tense the entire time because I was so scared to fall.  I had an entire conversation with myself while running....do I fall on my bad hip or my good hip?  am i going to wipe someone out if I fall?  Why did I say I would do this, I don't love 5K's?
So, there you have it everything going on in our wacky NH world.  The kids' are off today, but there will be nothing fun going on.  I have a lot to catch up on.

It's a Run Streak

I have run every day since December 30th.  It didn't start out in my mind as a streak, in fact I am not always a fan of streaking.  I do believe that your body needs rest days.  I was supposed to take a rest on Friday and didn't because I met up with two of my friends.  Yesterday I could have taken a rest, but it was 50 degrees here in NH and how often do we have those days.  Today as I am sitting on the couch and looking out of the window there is a surge of runners running by.  (I live on a hill that people use for hill training.)  It makes me want to put my running clothes on.  I only have 3 miles to go until 30 miles for the week.  Should I or shouldn't I?  Maybe I could rest tomorrow, who knows?  All I know is that I am on a streak and at the rate that I am going I will probably keep the streak alive.

A New Year's 10K and a Food Diary

This morning was the 1st Run in Lowell, MA.  I went in with no expectations  (I mean no!)  and I came out with a 52:48.  I was psyched.  I felt strong throughout the race.  The course had good support.  It was a double loop, but that was okay because I got to run with 4 of my friends one with whom I had not spoken to in a while.  It was nice to catch up with her for the new year.  The weather was incredible.  Can you say 50 degrees on January 1?  Honestly we could have been in t-shirts and our skirts.  I ended up in a capri skirt and long sleeve top.  I started to get that sick feeling at about mile 5, but we kept on going.  I just worked on my breathing at that point.  There was plenty of water at the end as well as beer and snacks.

This race was the first race in the Will Run for Beer series sponsored by Loco Running.  This series is 7 races through the beginning of June.  If you do 5 out of 7 you get a jacket.  I am already signed up for 4 of the races and looking forward to all of them.  2 of them are half marathons which are always a good time.

I also started my food diary today.  Let's just say it is not pretty and I am taking in way to many calories.  I have a couple of ideas on breakfast foods that I want to incorporate.  I also need to do a better job of portion sizes.  Note to self you don't have to eat everything on your plate and go back for seconds.  I think this food journal is going to be a great idea for me and hoping that it can help me put things in perspective.

I wish that I could write some crazy New Years Eve story, but I was in bed with my 5 year old at 8 pm watching House Hunters.  Yep we're crazy over here!

Three Things Thursday

1.  We have had a relaxing vacation week.  Ben had a basketball tournament, Siri has been to the barn and the little kids have played with their toys.  We have spent time with our friends and are now about to take down the tree and speed into 2012.  While I have enjoyed the week, I will be glad when they are all back in school and I am back on my schedule.

2.  I spent the morning on the computer writing down races in my calendar.  Some I am signed up for and some are just on my radar.  I have quite a few Half's on the list and a couple of 10k's and 5 K's.  My first race is the 1st Run 10K on January 1 in Lowell, MA.  I am excited to open the year with a 10K.  It is just what I need to get my running juices flowing.  I am going with 5 running besties.  Last year we did a 10K in Salsbury, MA which I am not going to name because it stunk.  This one is very well run and we are all excited.

3.  I also have spent a lot of the morning thinking about my goals for 2012.  I would love to run a sub 1:50 half marathon this year.  I know that in order to do that I need to drop a couple of pounds.  The last couple of months have not been great eating months for me.  I am hoping to start the year off right by keeping a food journal.  I have tried this before and it doesn't always work.  Maybe this will be the year that it does.

The Day Before Christmas Eve

I know, I have been a really bad blogger.  For some reason this holiday has made it impossible to get out of my own way.  I had one home sick for the week and a list a mile long so my computer took a back seat.

Last night we set out to wrap all of the kids presents.  We have an entire system.  Everyone gets a certain wrapping paper.  We wrap, listen to music and then make sure everything seems even.  I am sure that someone is going to complain.  We really tried to stay on a budget this year.  With 4 kids it can be hard, but I think that we managed and everyone got some nice things.  (Even the dog, the cats and the horse).

My running suffered a bit this week, but that is okay.  I am letting it be okay.  (Can you tell it really isn't okay).  Between a sick child, Christmas and my own fun foolishness on Monday night.  (Beer and wine don't mix).  I just let the running go.  I know I am running today and tomorrow and sometimes I meet my friend on Christmas.  Vacation week will have me on my treadmill and out for early mornings, but that is okay.  Back on the February training plan.

I will leave you with a picture of Nelly, our crazy Corgi.  Last night while we were wrapping presents we found a Santa suit that we had bought for her.  (I know, don't judge).  Well we put it on her and she kept it on long enough for us to take a picture.
I know, we have totally lost it.  Merry, Merry everyone!!

Running, Running, Running

We are up and running here.  Running to Christmas, running on the roads and running to various sporting and school events that 4 kids pile up.  My goal this week is to just keep up and make it to Sunday.  (I thought that it was make it until Saturday and then I realized we have a flag football double header and a cookie swap.)  I know that I am going to be up before 5 most mornings if I want to get my run in.  That is okay.  Sometimes I feel better if I am done and feel like I can conquer the day.

I also went out on a limb this week and sent an email to the owner of our local running store.  I let him know that I was interested in working at his store if he had any openings.  I never heard back from him which has me kind of bummed out.  My husband said he was proud of me for even putting myself out like that.  Believe me that is not my usual MO.  Now of course I am in that weird thought process that he would never hire me, I will never be able to go into his store again and why would I do something so crazy?

I guess what it comes down to is that I am ready to have a job, but I want to do something that I like.  I love running gear/stuff.  I love helping people shop for gear/stuff and I really like my local running store.  Fingers crossed that maybe I hear something from him even if it is a kind no thank you.

The Tree is Up

We (the 4 kids) decorated the Christmas Tree last night.  As you can see the ornaments all seem to be in one area.  That would be from the kids fighting over the step stool in front of the tree.  Usually by now I have rearranged and fixed the tree to my specifications, but I have one home sick again today and he seems to be in my hip pocket.
Decorating the Christmas tree with four kids, a dog and 2 cats can be a little bit of a trick.  T puts on the lights.  I sat on the couch and facilitated the job.  I know he really appreciated it.  I like the lights tucked in the tree so they look like they are illuminating from the inside.  T doesn't quite feel that way and just wants to get them up.  While he was putting the lights on everyone was pulling ornaments out of the box, trying to hang them and then of course one broke.  The one that broke....Ben's from Disney.  Who broke it?  Siri. Let's just say Wrestlemania broke out in the living room.
Every year I have a vision on eating cookies, decorating the tree, talking about how the home made ornaments.  Every year it turns into how fast can we get the tree up and then put everyone to bed.  Then I start questioning Trav about why we didn't get the tree on Saturday?  Maybe we should get a fake tree and we could put it up whenever we wanted?  You know the second guessing that occurs about everything around Christmas.
Oh yeah and one more thing.  Seriously Taylor Swift?  Why would you charge $60 for perfume that is probably being worn by a bunch of 6th graders?  And why is that the first thing on Siri's Christmas list?

Three Things Thursday

1.  My training plan for Half at the Hamptons started this week.  We are just going to follow the Hal Higdon intermediate plan for this race.  It is a simple, doable plan and we always seem to do well with it.

2.  Both boys are home sick today.  Their cough(s) kept me up the entire night.  I have one that is asthmatic so I think that he bough himself a trip to the doctor this morning.  It seems like all of the kids in our area are sick.  One class had nine kids out the other day.  Selfishly I need them to go to school so that I can get my Christmas stuff done.

3.  I am going to a running group on Saturday morning at our local running store.  Every Saturday morning they do a run through Mine's Falls in Nashua.  It is supposed to be beautiful and it is something different.  I have never been to a running group before so I am excited to check it out.

Reassessing Your Goals

I had a realization last night as I was falling asleep.  I was not going to hit 1000 miles this year.  I immediately became kind of sad.  I started trying to figure out how many miles I would have to run every day to hit 1000.  I talked to my H-- about it and then I just decided that I had to let it go. (not as easy as it sounds....I am still thinking about it.)   I am just coming back from an injury, there is not way that I can run 8-10 miles everyday through the month of December.  (I could, but that was my downfall last January when my body had finally had enough).  Instead I am going to focus on 2012.  I am going to focus on my races that I have scheduled.  I am going to focus on healthy training.  I am going to focus on cross training.  I have a feeling that I will surpass 1000 miles in 2012.

So here's to a good half marathon training plan and a good 2012!  Now if I can just make it through December.

21 Random Facts

My good friend G, from Neurosis of a Stay at Home Marathoner tagged me for this fun game, so I think that I will partake.  Here goes....

1.  I have 4 kids,  2 boys and 2 girls, which many find funny.  When I was younger I didn't even like to babysit.

2.  I was an Adolescent Health Nurse at Children's Hospital Boston.  I loved my job and was considered kind of cool by the teenage population.  My 11 year old tween doesn't think that I am so cool.

3.  I have run 2 marathons, 6 half marathons and many 5K's and 10K's.  My favorite distance is the half.  The training is manageable and I always feel great after.

4.  My fastest half is 1:51 and I would like to get a sub 1:50 this year.

5.  I live in the town that my husband grew up in.  We have lived here for 12 years.  That is the longest I have ever lived in one place or house.  There are many times over the past couple of years that I have begged to pick up and move.  Obviously, it is not working.

6.  I am lucky to have 3 "running besties" that run most of my runs with me.  We are close friends, talk about everything and adhere to the rule that nothing we talk about leaves our run.  We have solved many problems on those long runs.

7.  My parents were both runners and I have always considered myself a runner.  I would jump in and out of it in my 20's, but have considered running my favorite physical activity.

8.  I hate flying.  Really, I find it quite terrifying and spend the entire plane ride ready for it to crash.  My husband just shakes his head.

9.  I am a neat freak.  I don't like messes they make me anxious.  I am constantly wiping things down and cleaning up.  It drives my husband crazy and he constantly is reminding me that we have 4 kids, a dog and 2 cats.  I am trying to get better, but it is hard.

10.  I own A LOT of running skirts.  Most are from runningskirts.com and some from Lululemon.  I love running clothes and I like to look cute.  There is no need to look messy and/or frumpy while taking part in my favorite activity.

11.  My mother was from Louisiana and I was born there.  I also lived there for 2 years after college.  It was one of my favorite times in my life.  I sometimes think of returning there.  I have a lot of southern in me.

12.  I do not like to be cold.

13.  I think about what I want to do with my life now that my kids are all in school.  I was a nurse in my previous life, but don't know if that is the road I want to travel now.  I am hoping to figure it all out in the next year.

14.  I love vegetables, but don't like fruit very much.

15.  My husband and I laugh all of the time that we don't have much in common, but we are really two peas in a pod.  We seem to do well at doing our own thing while being near each other.  ex...I run on the treadmill in our room and he will work on his computer in our room too.

16.  I love music.  I used to play the piano and still enjoy sitting down and trying to figure out how to play songs.  My 10 year old seems to have a gift for music and I have fun listening to him play.

17.  I love football.  My boys play Pop Warner.  I love the LSU Tigers and watch the Patriots every weekend.  My husband says that I know more about football than most men.

18.  I love watching tv.  I can't help it.  Thank goodness I like to run so much or else I would be a really big couch potato.  If it is cheesy and silly I will be watching it.  (think Lifetime movies).

19.  I have a plan for everything and I like writing it out.  I have a Mom's Plan It Calendar and use different colors for different kids.  My runs are mapped out for the month and that is where I keep my grocery list.  I would be lost without it.

20.  I love going to bed at night.  In fact when I wake up in the morning I am already thinking of going to bed that night.  My mother claims that I have always been like that even in elementary school.

21.  I am not great at arts and crafts or cooking.  I feel like I am always trying, but it doesn't seem to go my way.  I guess that I will just keep on working.

There is my list.  I probably am supposed to tag people, but I think that a lot of people have already been tagged.  If you are interested in doing it, please do.  I would love to read more.

Blog, Blog Where Have You Gone

I have not been writing.  The month of November seems to have blown away.  Between our week long power outage, my getting pneumonia and a trip to Florida I seem to finally be getting back into the swing of things.

I was given the go ahead to run 2 weeks ago, but was sick enough that the though of putting on my running clothes made me sicker.  Pneumonia really sucks.  I had never wheezed before, never coughed up both of my lungs before or even run a fever for longer than one or two days.  I was definitely down and out.  I am finally feeling better and am going to attempt to run Feaster Five on Thursday.  I have not run in 5 weeks.  (Since the Chicago Marathon).  I am nervous.  I am worried about my hip, worried what kind of shape that my lungs are in and just hoping to make it through.....Fingers Crossed.

On another note Florida and Disney were great.  Seeing the castle through my 5 year olds eyes was truly amazing.  The big kids went on the "big rides" and Izzie saw a lot of shows.  We were blessed to be able to spend the week with my Mom and Dad and my two nieces.  My only negative....the kids' food.  Honestly, if they were to eat one more chicken finger I think that I was going to lose it.

Can you believe that Christmas is 5 weeks away?  Anything special that people want out there?
Happy Tuesday!!

Yikes....I'm Sick!

I seem to have caught the bug that is going around.  When I say it stinks it really stinks.  My H has been in California all week and with the time change we really have not heard from him.  Although, I don't know what hearing from his was going to do.  I have a fever.  I have a cough and I feel like I have been beaten up.
Last night I had chicken and rice soup with a toasted cheese sandwich.  Do you know what I did?  I used white bread.  Yes, I know it is so bad for me, but that is all that I wanted.  White bread and American Cheese.  If it is any consolation I hit it in the pantry and I did not give it to the kids.  (Don't know why I felt I needed to add that.  I think that I am becoming delusional with my fever.)
Advil and DayQuil were my friend today.  I also stopped at my MIL's and got a Mucinex before my ART therapy because I thought that it would help.  No luck.
The worst part of the day is that I got the go ahead to try 3 miles on my treadmill.  My new Fuchsia Mizuno's arrived and just the thought of getting on the treadmill is stressing me out.  My mother told me to NOT do it,  hadn't I read the Runner's World article about running while sick?   and that I better cool and wait until the weekend.  (former runner mom:)
So today I am getting the kids off to school and I am supposed to get my haircut.  I feel crappy, but I need my haircut.  I had let it grow out for Chicago and now I need a change.  Please say a prayer that I make it out the door.
Happy Thursday:)
